Privacy policy updates and v0.2 of the forum.
Privacy policy update:
Now that account deletion is actually a thing, the privacy policy has been revised. Should you choose to deactivate your account, you will have a 3 month grace period to reactivate it before you are actually dropped from the database.
Forum updates:
(probably the last in a good while until I feel like coming back to the spaghetti code that is the ‘posts’ page so that I can add an edit button.)
- “Unread” notifications for posts: When somebody responds to your post, you will now be notified of it in the new “notifications area”
- Profile editing: You can give yourself a bio and edit your full name (which is optional, btw). Not much more will probably ever be added in terms of this area (profile pictures are not planned).
- RSS pages: There is now RSS for topics and posts. If you don‘t know what this is, all you need to know is that this is how you’ll get most applications to “watch” the site and do things when there are new posts and replies. A more in-depth tutorial may eventually be posted on this, but for now you should know that
/rss/topic/____
will get you updates on a topic and /rss/post/_
will get you updates on a post.
- The user page has been fixed.
- A better internal verification system is in place; the site should now be much more secure.
